Hasan Muzaffar

Hasan is the Middle East Office Manager and a core member of McKinsey’s global Institutional Investing and Public Finance practices, as well as the Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice. Since joining McKinsey in 2004, he has advised principal investors, sovereign wealth funds, private-sector institutions, and diversified conglomerates on topics such as corporate and investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment governance, and risk management. He has played a pivotal role in the design and launch of over ten new investment and capital deployment platforms, including sovereign-backed principal investment vehicles and sector-focused funds. Hasan has also supported multiple national governments in establishing and scaling development finance institutions, designing economic-development funds, SME financing ecosystems, lending structures, job-creation programs, and broader economic-stimulus initiatives. In private equity and venture capital, Hasan brings deep experience across the entire investment lifecycle. He has advised limited partners (LPs) on fund strategy, allocation models, manager selection, and governance structures, and supported general partners (GPs) in building differentiated investment theses, optimizing fund structures, improving portfolio value-creation capabilities, and scaling across regions. His work spans growth equity, buyouts, and venture ecosystems, including the setup of corporate venture capital arms, national innovation funds, and cross-border co-investment platforms linking global investors with local opportunities. Prior to joining McKinsey, Hasan held roles in product management and supply chain operations.
