Anas Alfaris

Dr. Anas Alfaris is a Saudi entrepreneur, academic, and technology leader known for his pioneering work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, decision intelligence, and systems innovation. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Intelmatix, a global deep-tech company developing AI operating systems that transform organizations into adaptive, intelligent ecosystems. Dr. Alfaris previously served as President of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), where he led national R&D strategy and large-scale innovation programs. He has held prominent national and international leadership roles, including Chair of Saudi Arabia’s Science20 (S20) during the G20 presidency and member of UNESCO’s International Scientific Board. He was also the founding director of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center with the World Economic Forum and played a key role in establishing joint R&D centers with global institutions such as MIT, Stanford, and Boeing. He has also served on numerous high-level boards, including KAUST, the Saudi Space Commission, and the Global Research Council. As part of his academic journey, Dr. Alfaris was affiliated with the Smart Cities Group at the MIT Media Lab and later served as a visiting professor at the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) at MIT. He holds a Ph.D. in Design Computation and an M.Sc. in Computational Engineering from MIT. Dr. Alfaris is widely recognized for his contributions to science policy, AI innovation, and the advancement of cognitive enterprises.
